Team Composition

UCI mountain bike teams can be classified as being strictly for a particular discipline — cross-country or gravity — or can be a combination of more than one. If it is strictly a gravity team, then the team must have a minimum of two riders and up to a maximum of 10 riders. If the team is a cross-country or any combination of disciplines, it must have a minimum of three riders and a maximum of 10 riders.

A rider may not be the team manager or any other team staff member. There must be a team manager listed for the team.

A team must be classified as a Domestic Pro Team in order to accrue points on the Pro MTB Cross-country Tour (Pro XCT) or before they can become a UCI team.
