Online registration open now for Collegiate MTB Nationals


From Oct. 25-27, North Carolina's Beech Mountain will play host to student athletes as they compete in the second national championship event of the 2013-2014 collegiate cycling season - the 2013 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships.

Racers will compete for national titles in cross-country, short track cross-country, dual slalom, downhill, and the team relay. At the end of the three days, individual and team omnium champs will be crowned.

The highest resort in the eastern United States, Beech Mountain just successfully wrapped up its first summer of bike park operations and is thrilled to step in as the new host for the 2013 Collegiate Mountain Bike Nationals. It looks forward to sharing its diverse and unique trail system with America's collegiate mountain bikers.

Online registration opened on Friday, Sept. 27 and the cost is $50 per rider for cross-country and short-track cross country, and $60 per rider for downhill and dual slalom. The team relay event is $50 per person.

Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Oct. 22.

There will be onsite registration but the costs will increase to $70 per rider for cross-country and short-track cross-country, and $80 per rider for downhill and dual slalom. The team relay event will increase to $70 per person.

In order to register, each collegiate rider must first be marked as qualified by his or her conference director, indicating that the rider has participated in his or her conference season, and earned one of the conference's start spots. Information on this process can be found here. If you are unable to register, please contact your conference director. Teams are limited to a maximum of eight unique men and eight unique women at the event, with up to six of each gender in any individual race, depending on the qualified allocation of start spots by each team's conference.
