Thanks for registering for the Beer City Growler! Alger Bikes and Striders are proud to host a premier bike and running race, and bring serious fun to Wilcox Park and Eastown, Grand Rapids! A “steeplechase”-style running course at just about 5 kilometers precedes a full day of USA Cycling-sanctioned racing at all levels.
Check the Tech Guide for updates before you come! It will always be located here: http://tinyurl.com/bcgtech2
The steeplechase course will run on the same course as the cyclocross, which means racers will need to navigate barriers, terrain and the "flyover", a bridge with steps on the entry and a ramp on the exit. You may see your competitors running over or under you!
Eastown Community Association, in association with Smitty’s Specialty Beverage is sponsoring a beer garden in the thick of the action. We’ll have a number of local brews on tap for you to try. We ask that you don’t bring your own alcohol into the park, in respect to Eastown Community Association and our neighbors.
Our surface repair plan is generously sponsored by Lawn Doctor, a local neighborhood business essential to our mission of bringing positive impact through our use. Part of the race proceeds are going directly into the parks system and Eastown Community Association in order to improve the places we get to play in.
The ever-popular Kid’s Race will be taking place on a separate course at 1:15PM near the playground. Bring your under-10 kids and whatever two-wheeled (ok, three is fine) apparatus they want to ride around our pint-sized course! We’ll split up the kids roughly by age and everyone wins!! Parent waivers are required, and we will have those on-site for you to fill in. There’s no entry fee for the Kid’s Race!
Timing is provided by One2Go Services (the same people who bring you Cyclocross Nationals), and you’ll have live lap timing in addition to that epic photo finish!!
Course inspection for cyclocross racers starts by 8:30AM, and cyclocross races start at 9:30AM.

Please select the races you would like to register for and click the next button to add them to your cart.
