Juniors: Girls ages 9 and up. This group is for girls interested in learning fundamental trail riding skills and gaining confidence in a fun supportive environment. This year we will likely host 2 junior girls groups, one for beginners and one for more advanced junior riders.

Beginner: Limited experience riding a bike on dirt trails and roads. You have a basic understanding of braking, shifting, and steering and can handle riding smooth dirt paths with few rocks, roots, and technical areas. This group is for women interested in learning fundamental mountain biking skills and gaining the confidence to ride single track trails.

Beginner/Intermediate: You have experience riding on dirt roads and some experience riding on single track, but you may be hesitant of aggressively tackling the trails. You are looking to gain confidence in some of the basic skills such as riding switchbacks, cornering, powering through steep sections, gear selection, etc.

Intermediate: You are a rider with consistent experience riding single track. You have some experience riding rocks, roots, and uneven terrain though you may not feel entirely comfortable while riding technical sections of trail, cornering on switchbacks, etc. This group is for a competent rider that is looking to ride more aggressively and proficiently through technical terrain.

Intermediate/Advanced: You are a rider with consistent experience riding single track and have strong bike handling skills. You have a lot of experience riding through technical sections of trail and are pumped to conquer new skills and ride new features of the trail (rock drops, steep switchbacks, jumps, etc.). You are interested in working on speed and efficiency and want to become a more aggressive rider. Most girls in this group will ride with clipless pedals and are proficient at climbing.

Advanced: You are an experienced and proficient rider. You have mastered the basic skills but are wanting to take your riding to another level. You are pumped to ride steep and technical trails and are ready to take some lessons from the Pro’s. This group will work on refining downhill and descending skills, increasing speed, and increasing climbing efficiency. This group will work on skills and ride trails at Marshall Mountain during most of the skills clinic.

50+ Ladies: Due to the popular demand, we will have added a group that is optional for ladies who fall into the 50+ age category. This group is perfect for the rider looking for a relaxed environment to improve basic skills and safety on intermediate terrain.

We welcome anyone to attend regardless of skill level and previous experience. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you are unsure which level would be right for you!
