 Event Description
The 2014 Ronde Ohop is the 10th edition of the race. In celebration we are using the original course and the race will be a true NW Kermesse with multiple laps of the Mashel Loop. The Ronde Ohop is part of the 2014 NW Kermesse Series of races that mix paved and unpaved roads to evoke the Belgian tradition of cobbled, short, fast and hard races.

 Course Description
Registration and finish are at the Mashel Loop field. Race starts at the North Park Entrance. Races will run counter clockwise laps of the Mashel-Nisqually loop. The Mashel-Nisqually Loop is 1 miles of paved road & 1 miles of dirt road per lap and includes the 50 meter Mur de Mashel each lap.

 Registration
Online at USACycling.org or day of at the Mashel Loop. Registration closes 40 minutes before the start of each event. The entry fee includes $3 per rider per day for USA Cycling insurance. A current year USA Cycling Rider Waiver and Release form must be signed by the participant and, if under 18, by the parent or legal guardian. WSBA numbers will be used. The officials request that both bib numbers be clearly visible placed parallel with your jersey’s side seam on the back and above the pockets. Frame number should be attached per WSBA instructions. Examples of proper placement: http://gcracingllc.com/numberplacement.aspx. Rental numbers are available for a $10 fee ($5 refundable). For out-of-state riders a $5 number refundable deposit will be assessed.

 Notes
Neutral wheel support will be provided. I However wheels will be limited and two addition wheel-in/wheels-out pits will be marked on the course for a total of three wheel pits on the Mashel Loop. Riders are highly encourage to bring spare wheels. The organizer is not responsible for wheels or equipment left at the race. Upgrade, Ranking & Series Points: Upgrade points: Cat 4/5s will receive upgrade points based on the road race points schedule. Full stop. Cat 1/2/3 Race: Cat 3 riders will receive upgrade points based on the road race points schedule for their placing relative to other Cat 3s. This means if you get 5th in the 1/2/3 race but are the 1st placed Cat 3 you get points for a 1st Place finish. Cat 1 / 2 riders will receive upgrade points based on the Criterium points schedule for their overall placing. This means if you get 5th in the 1/2/3 race but are the 1st placed Cat 2 you get points for a 5th Place finish. Scoring: Masters and Women’s start together but are scored separately. Masters races will have an overall winner as well as separate scoring for 35+ 1-2-3, 50+ and 35+ 4-5 groups for USACycling Ranking points. Promoter may separate fields if size warrants. Series Points: Series points will be for the Cat 1/2/3 Race, Masters Overall (1-5) and Women’s fields. Series winner will receive a winner’s jersey and free entry into 2015 series events. The gift certs are $5-35.

 Directions
Parking will be at the Nisqually- Mashel State Park next to 437th St E & Medical Springs Rd under the power lines. From North or South on I-5 Take exit 127. Drive east on Hwy 512 for two miles, then take the Pacific Ave./Mt. Rainier exit south. Follow Pacific Ave. about five miles to where the road splits in a "Y." Follow signs for Mt. Rainier (the left branch of the fork) taking Hwy 7 south. Drive about 17 miles, passing Ohop Valley Rd. At the top of the long sweeping hill turn right onto the Mashel Prairie Road on the right side. Go about ¾ of a mile and park on the right side under the power lines.
