Communique #1 Collegiate MTB Nationals
2017 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National ChampionshipsWelcome to the 2017 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships in Missoula, Montana! Thank you, everyone, for your patience while we worked through shuttle issues today. We're looking forward to three great days of racing. Be sure to wear warm clothing as we are looking at some true Missoula fall weather. We'll see you tomorrow.
Schedule Changes as of 9:13 PM 10/19/17
Due to the forecasted weather, we will be delaying the XC men's starts by 30 minutes. Varsity men will now start at 8:30 AM and club men at 8:40 AM. The women's start times remain the same. The updated schedule can be found here.
Cross Country Laps
Men will do three laps of the cross country course and women will do two.
Downhill Course Change
We are anticipating some weather to come in on Sunday during the DH finals. Because of this we will be opening a B line on the course above the rock garden. This B option will be opened for practices, determination on its inclusion in the race will be dependent on weather conditions.
Riders with fewer practice runs will be given priority on the shuttles to meet the two practice requirement. A staff person will be assisting in loading according to priortity. Please allow staff members to load your bikes to decrease load time.
We will be expanding the shuttle capacity. The first shuttle for Friday's practice will depart at 3:45 PM just outside the gate of the venue. Shuttles will depart every hour after that. The last shuttle will depart at 5:45.
A list of downhill practice runs can be found here. Riders will be assigned shuttles for seeding and finals.
Dual Slalom brackets will be 32 for the varsity men and women, 16 for the club men and women.
Ties during the bracket will be broken by the finish time of the second run.
Team Relay Teams
Please send your team relay rosters to Emily Palmer prior to Saturday at 5 PM. They can be emailed or verbally reported at registration at Marshall Mountain.
