Luca Shaw's life as a bike racer got underway when he was eight years old racing BMX with his brother. They spent the next five years traveling around the country with their parents to all the nationals. When Luca was 13 he discovered mountain biking and that has been his passion ever since! He started out doing the east coast downhill races, and by the time Luca was 16, he received the opportunity to race the Junior World Cup series. Luca ended up getting second in the Junior World cup his second year and since then he has progressed into the Elite category. Now in his fourth year, Luca has accumulated three elite podiums and finished top-10 in the UCI Downhill World Cup overall and World Championships. Now 21, Luca is riding for his dream team the Santa Cruz Syndicate!
