Twenty-one national titles awarded at the 2018 USA Cycling Fat Bike National Championships.

House and Greaser roll away with pro titles.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Feb. 11, 2018) — Snow, cold temperatures, and degrading course conditions set the stage for twenty-one national titles to be awarded Saturday at the 2018 USA Cycling Fat Bike National Championships, held at the Cannonsburg Ski Area in Grand Rapids, Mich.

In the pro women’s event, Jena Greaser (Barkhamstead, Conn.) took charge of the race early and maintained her lead through out. Taking the silver was Ashley Carelock (Delores, Colo.) and rounding out the podium was Michigan local Susan Vigland (Traverse City, Mich. / Hagerty Cycling Team).

On the pro men’s side, Cole House (Oneida, Wisc.) repeated his performance from last year’s edition of the event, taking home the stars-and-stripes jersey. House beat Will Ross (Anchorage, Alaska) and Corey Stelljes (Madison, Wisc. / Neff Cycling Service) who placed second and third, respectively.

Also of note, father-daughter duo Paul Curley (Taunton, Mass.) and Emily Curley (Taunton, Mass. / Corner Cycle Cycling Club) each took home a national title in their respective fields. Paul in the Men’s Master 60-69 event, and Emily in the Women’s Senior 23-29 event.

Seventeen other national champions climbed atop the podium on Saturday, including Anabel Miller (East Grand Rapids, Mich.) in the Women’s Junior 11-14, Henry Conway (Zionsville, Ind.) in the Men’ Junior 11-14, Summer Gilbert (Holland, Mich.) in the Women’s Junior 15-18, Nathan Knowles (Batavia, Ill. / ASU Junior Development) in the Men’s Junior 15-18, Alijah Beatty (Washington, Iowa / NorthStar Development) in the Women’s U23, Justin Kreger (Pontiac, Mich.) in the Men’s U23, Matthew Grady (Cedarburg, Wisc. / Team Pedal Moraine) in the Men’s Senior 23-29, Heather Stelljes (Madison, Wisc. / Neff Cycling Service) in the Women’s Master 30-39, Tyler Weston (Mattawan, Mich.) in the Men’s Master 30-39, Kimberly Flynn (Boone, N.C. / Happy Tooth Women’s Racing) in the Women’s Master 40-49, Mike Budd (Wrightstown, Wisc. / Team Wheel & Sprocket) in the Men’s Master 40-49, Katina Walker (Tully, N.Y. / Park Ave Bike p/b Borah Teamwear) in the Women’s Master 50-59, Paul Olsen (Traverse City, Mich. / Hagerty Cycling Team) in the Men’s Master 50-59, Kim Bear (Santa Fe, N.M. / New Mexico Spokettes Racing Team) in the Women’s 60-69, Dean Ferrandini (Newhall, Calif.) in the Men’s Master 70+, Heidi Snyder (Ann Arbor, Mich.) in the Women’s Singlespeed, and James Litzinger (Beaver Falls, Penn.) in the Men’s Singlespeed.
