Want to race for a Masters World Title?

Your chance is coming up, August 24-27 in Albi France. Masters world titles will be awarded at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships (formerly called the UWCT or Masters Road Worlds).

USA Cycling members can qualify for a start spot at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships by finishing in the top 25% of their age group at one of twenty qualifying events that are taking place all over the world this spring and summer, including the lone American qualifier – the Cheaha Challenge in Jacksonville, Alabama on May 21.

Qualify for a start spot at the Cheaha Challenge.

With a challenging route that takes participants from the campus of Jacksonville State University over the highest point in Alabama, and then back again - The Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo Century & ULTRA is known as “the toughest ride in the South.”

In addition to a chance to qualify for a spot at the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, all participants will receive a stuffed goody bag while all finishers will receive a finishers gift, and all ULTRA finishers will receive a unique finishers shirt.

What if I don’t qualify for a start spot?

The easiest way to qualify is by placing in the top 25% of your age group at the Cheaha Challenge, but if you don’t make it onto the start list that way – you can still qualify if you win the USA Cycling Masters National Championship road race or time trial in your age group (Augusta, GA, June 1-4) or finish in the top 25% in one of the other qualifier events in Canada or Mexico in June.
