​Valente's fifth-place omnium closes World Cup

(Dec. 6, 2015) – Jennifer Valente (San Diego, Calif./TWENTY16 p/b SHO-AIR) used a pair of top-three event finishes to take fifth in the women’s omnium, closing out the UCI Track World Cup #2 in Cambridge, New Zealand, on Sunday.
 
Valente opened the second day of omnium competition with a second-place effort in the time trial, followed by a third-place result in the flying lap. She added 23 points to her total in the points race to finish fifth in the standings.
 
Jacob Duehring (Irvine, Calif./GS Ciao) finished 20th in the men’s omnium after chalking 18th-place finishes in the time trial and flying lap before ending with one point in the points race.
 
Lauren Stephens (Dallas, Texas/Team TIBCO-SVB), who helped the women’s team pursuit squad to fourth place Saturday, took 19th in the women’s Class 1 scratch race.

A day after earning men’s keirin bronze, Matt Baranoski (Perkasie, Pa./Custom Velo) placed 40th in the men’s sprint qualifier, finishing in 10.410 seconds.
