“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Volkswagen as we head into an Olympic year and are doubling our efforts in support of grassroots development and amateur racing,” said USA Cycling CEO Derek Bouchard-Hall. "Volkswagen has been a superb partner these last four years and has provided immense benefit to the American cycling community. We stand by them today as they stood by our sport as it struggled with its challenges. With VW by our side, we will be able to make immense progress toward the goals USA Cycling's membership cares most about.”
“Volkswagen is delighted to renew our partnership with USA Cycling,” said Vinay Shahani, Vice President, Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “This relationship reflects the passion that many of our owners have for cycling and illustrates the way our cars help people participate in a sport they love.”
An organization boasting more than three decades of support for American cycling, Volkswagen began its official partnership with USA Cycling in 2012. The automaker has since played an active and visible role in supporting USA Cycling National Championships, including the last three Volkswagen Professional Road and Time Trial National Championships, and has been pivotal in the success of Team USA Cycling domestically and overseas in Europe.
“VW is passionate about supporting cycling from the grassroots up to the elite,” Bouchard-Hall said. "USA Cycling is very grateful to have the support of an absolutely world class partner who shares our vision of growing cycling at all levels."
