USA Cycling names eight athletes to squad for Pan American Road Championships

  
  


Colorado Springs, Colo. (May 7, 2014) – USA Cycling announced today the eight athletes that will represent the United States at the 2014 Pan American Continental Road Championships, May 8-12, in Puebla, Mexico.
 
Four women will represent the United States in Mexico. Leading the squad will be 2012 world championship silver medalist in the time trial, Evelyn Stevens (San Francisco, Calif./Team Specialized lululemon). Stevens will compete in the race against the clock and will be joined in the competition by Megan Guarnier (Mountain View, Calif./Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team) who has been racing a full European calendar with her trade team.
 
Guarnier will then team up in the road race with Maura Kinsella (Boulder, Colo./Team Optum p/b Kelly Benefit Strategies) and Lauren Komanski (Winston-Salem, N.C./TWENTY16 Pro Cycling), both of whom have demonstrated superior teamwork skills during a recent European race trip with the USA Cycling. National Development Program.

Ty Magner (Griffin, Ga./Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) and Joey Rosskopf (Athens, Ga./Hincapie Sportswear Development Team) will represent the U.S. in the elite men's competition, while Justin Mauch (San Francisco, Calif./Airgas Cycling), Chris Putt (Park City, Utah/Bissell Development Cycling), will race in the men’s U23 ranks. The developing athletes will gain extremely valuable experience racing in both the road race and time trial in Mexico.
