(Oct. 30, 2015) – The U.S. earned women’s team pursuit silver on the first day of the 2015-16 UCI Track World Cup #1 in Cali, Colombia, falling to Canada in Friday’s final.

The American team of Kelly Catlin (Arden Hills, Minn./NorthStar Development), Sarah Hammer (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Jennifer Valente (San Diego, Calif./TWENTY16 p/b SHO-AIR) and Ruth Winder (Lafayette, Calif./UnitedHealthcare) qualified with the third-best time of the morning session, clocking a 4:23.923 behind Canada and Great Britain. The Americans then knocked off Great Britain in the first round by 2.153 seconds before coming up short of the gold by 5.687 seconds.
 
Great Britain edged China in the bronze medal match by 0.169 seconds.

Saturday will feature Matt Baranoski (Perkasie, Pa./Custom Velo) in the men’s keirin and Valente in the women’s scratch race, while Jacob Duehring (Irvine, Calif./GS Ciao) and Hammer will kick off the men’s and women’s omniums.
