U.S. cyclists won 152 world championship medals in 2013

Colorado Springs, Colo. (July 15, 2014) -- It's the middle of summer which means cyclists of all ages and abilities are busy riding for national or world titles. Just in July and August, there are three world championships coming up - the UCI Juniors Track World Championships, the UCI BMX Supercross World Championships, and the UWCT Final (Masters Road Worlds).

We thought it might be a good time to give a shout out to all of the U.S. world championship medalists from last year!

In 2013, American cyclists collected 152 medals at world championship competitions. Thirteen of those medals were in the elite or junior ranks while 120 were earned by amateurs and another 19 by para-cyclists. The breakdown of the medals was 64 golds, 45 silvers, and 43 bronzes.

Do you see a familiar name on the list?

Congratulations to all of our 2013 world championship medalists!
