Tim Duggan Election Statement

Tim Duggan
Pro Committee - Eligible Athlete (Male)

Thank you for considering me as your athlete representative on the USPRO committee. I am excited to apply my years of racing experience around the globe at all levels to add significant and applicable athlete perspective to the governance of USA Cycling.

After an elite alpine ski racing career in my youth,  I progressed into a cycling career that exemplifies the development pipeline of a bike racer in America. With that, I have a strong sense for the scope of USAC, its mission and its members.  Surrounded by the strong racing community in my home state of Colorado, I segued from the amateur ranks to a significant period of time with the United States under-23 national team. From there I continued my career at the WorldTour level on the Garmin (Slipstream) and currently Liquigas-Cannondale teams, highlighted by a USPRO championship and nomination the 2012 Olympic Team.

Off the bike I remain very much involved in the grassroots organizations that provide the base for aspiring cyclists. With my Just Go Harder Foundation, scholarships are provided to kids for cycling programs and coaching fees thereby getting their foot in the door in the often costly sport of cycling.

For us riders, clearly certain things truly matter while others don't. My goal is to provide accurate advice to USAC from the athlete point of view as it relates to race regulations, our safety, development, maintenance, and rights as a rider.

I am excited to hear the thoughts and needs of USAC athletes to put them on the table and apply them.
