Snowshoe Mountain, W. Va., will host the 2017-18 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships, while Missoula, Mont., will host the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships, and the Collegiate Road National Championships will be in Grand Junction, Colo., during the two-year period.

“These three host cities will be excellent for our 2017 and 2018 Mountain Bike, Collegiate Mountain Bike and Collegiate Road National Championships,” said Micah Rice, USA Cycling Vice President of National Events. “It will be great to be back on the east coast for our Mountain Bike National Championships in Snowshoe, while Missoula has a strong mountain biking culture with amazing terrain, and Grand Junction is well known for its passionate cycling culture.”

Site of a popular east coast stop on the Pro GRT and a classic stop in the 1990’s for the NORBA Nationals, Snowshoe Mountain offers plenty of mountain bike history as host of the 2017-18 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships.

“West Virginia’s history with competitive fat tire racing goes back well beyond the NORBA national events held here more than a decade ago,” said David Dekema, VP of Marketing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. “The Snowshoe Bike Park and everyone here on the Mountain is excited to partner with USA Cycling to again pit the best riders against our most rugged Appalachian mountain terrain, and we’re looking forward to hosting some fantastic national championship events in 2017 and ‘18.”

Missoula, Mont., is home of the Missoula XC—a Pro XCT stop and an HC level event in 2016.

"We are incredibly excited that Missoula was chosen to host the 2017 and 2018 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships," said Mary Holmes, Director of Sales & Services at Destination Missoula. "Being that Missoula is such an avid cyclist community, we have always thought our community is a perfect fit for USA Cycling events and are ecstatic to welcome cyclists from all over the country to Missoula. We cannot wait to showcase the mountain bike courses Missoula has to offer as well an adventuresome community that undoubtedly will make for a memorable crowd!"

The 2017-18 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships heads to Grand Junction, Colo., home of Colorado Mesa University, which currently stands third in the collegiate rankings. Prior to the upcoming 2017 and 2018 championships, Grand Junction has also hosted stages of the famous Coors Classic on the Colorado National Monument.

“Greater Grand Junction is thrilled to be selected as the destination for the 2017 and 2018 USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships,” said Jennifer Stoll, Executive Director of the Greater Grand Junction Sports Commission. “We look forward to welcoming participants and spectators to our cycling-centric community and hosting amazing Championships that create lasting memories for all.”
