Stars-and-Stripes jerseys awarded at 2013 Amateur BMX Nationals

Nashville, Tenn. (June 1, 2013) — BMX racers converged on Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday for the right to earn the Stars-and-Stripes jersey at the 2013 USA Cycling Amateur BMX National Championships. Riders from 35 different age categories battled each other and the elements for the right to call themselves the best in the nation in their respective divisions. Even a powerful afternoon storm that moved through the area could not dampen the enthusiasm of the racers.

In the end, 35 champions were crowned as they not only fought for the top step of the podium and the coveted Stars-and-Stripes jersey, but also for a chance to represent the U.S. at the 2013 UCI BMX World Championships, July 24-28 in Auckland, New Zealand. The top 16 in each age group qualified to participate in the age group world championships.
