			<title>Junior Track Nationals set to begin Thursday in Carson</title>

			<description>The USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships are set to begin this Thursday. The event, which runs through Sunday, July 5, will see the next generation of American track cyclists vie for 24 national titles at the Home Depot Center Velodrome in suburban L.A. Stars-and-stripes jerseys will be awarded to the winners in each of the men's 17-18 and women's 17-18 individual events and to the overall omnium winners in the men's and womens's 10-12, 13-14, and 15-16 categories.</description>

			<title>2009 Masters Track Nationals relocated to Colorado Springs</title>

			<description>The 2009 USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships have been relocated to the 7-Eleven Velodrome in Colorado Springs. The event, slated for August 18-23, will be open for online registration at Sports Base Online beginning Sunday, June 21. The high altitude and fast racing surface is expected to set the stage for world records to fall.  </description>

			<description>USA Cycling junior national team riders scored several big victories at the Interland International Junior Track races at the new Dutch Velodrome in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. Kit Karzen and Danny Heeley won their first-ever international junior madison on Sunday while Coryn Rivera took the women's Derny race. Ian Moir finished second in the points race and Karzen second in a men's Derny race. </description>

			<title>Phinney wins pursuit gold at UCI Track World Championships</title>

			<description>After setting a new national record earlier today, Taylor Phinney became the first American in 13 years to win an elite menandrsquo;s world title on the track, capturing the rainbow jersey in the 4-kilometer individual pursuit Thursday night in Poland. Phinney clocked a winning time of 4:17.631 to beat Australiaandrsquo;s Jack Bobridge in the gold-medal final. Phinneyandrsquo;s victory also marks the continued resurgence of USA Cyclingandrsquo;s track program. Following a seven-year span in which Americans captured only two world championship medals between 1999 and 2005, U.S. athletes have since claimed a total of seven medals, including four world titles.</description>

			<title>Phinney sets new U.S. pursuit record, will race for world title</title>

			<description>American cyclist Taylor Phinney lowered his own U.S. national record in the menandrsquo;s 4-kilometer individual pursuit Thursday morning in his qualifying heat at the 2009 UCI Track World Championships.  Phinney clocked a new personal best time of 4 minutes 15.160 seconds to earn the number one seed in tonightandrsquo;s gold medal final. Phinneyandrsquo;s performance eclipsed his previous record of 4:15.223 andndash; a mark set last month during the final round of the 2008-09 UCI Track World Cup series in Copenhagen. A win tonight would make him the first American to win a men's world title on the track since 1996. </description>

			<title>USA Cycling names four to world championship track squad</title>

			<description>USA Cycling announced today a four-person squad for the upcoming 2009 UCI Track World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland, March 25-29. Taylor Phinney will compete in the individual pursuit and the kilometer time trial - just one month removed from shattering the U.S. national record in both events - as well as the multi-race omnium event. Daniel Holloway and Colby Pearce will contest the mass-start endurance events, while Shelly Olds is the lone women's representative and will compete in the scratch and points race events.</description>

			<title>Phinney shatters U.S. national pursuit record in Copenhagen</title>

			<description>U.S. National Team member Taylor Phinney shattered the U.S. national record in the menandrsquo;s 4,000-meter individual pursuit Friday at the UCI Track World Cup in Denmark. Phinney, clocked a time of 4 minutes, 15.223 seconds in the qualifying round, surpassing the previous mark of 4:19.800 set by Mariano Friedick in 1996. In Fridayandrsquo;s evening session, Phinney turned in a time of 4:19.119 in the finals to beat Irelandandrsquo;s David Oandrsquo;Loughlin and register his first World Cup victory this season.</description>

			<title>Carroll and East lock up UIV Talent Cup overall</title>

			<description>USA Cycling National Development Team riders Austin Carroll and Guy East become the first American Madison pair to win the U.I.V. Talent Cup Amateur Six-Day competition. The duo used four top finishes to lock up the series title ahead of last weekandrsquo;s finale in Alkmaar, Holland. The overall Talent Cup winners are now guaranteed a professional contract for competition in two UIV Professional Six-day events during the 2009-10 season. The series victory gave USA Cyclingandrsquo;s recently initiated Madison Program the first major success for its newly-revamped curriculum.  </description>
