Pro UET: Juarez and Cerra grab leads with one event remaining

  
  


(June 4, 2013) -- David "Tinker" Juarez (Whittier, Calif./Sho-Air - Cannondale) and Jessica Cerra (Encinitas, Calif./Focus Bikes) have assumed the top spots in the USA Cycling Pro Mountain Bike Ultra-Endurance Tour (Pro UET) with just one event remaining. Both riders notched victories at the US Cup - Big Bear Classic on June 2 in Big Bear Lake, Calif.

Juarez, last year's Pro UET champion, now has 100 points after two events to lead the Pro UET men's standings, while teammate Alex Grant (Salt Lake City, Utah/Sho-Air - Cannondale) sits in second place with 60 points. Ryan Clark (Laguna Hills, Calif./Audi - Felt) placed third at the Big Bear Classic and also is in third place in the updated standings with 55 points. Chris Jackson (Burbank, Calif.) and Kip Biese (Colorado Springs, Colo./KJ Bike Coaching), second and fifth, respectively, at the Big Bear Classic, are tied for fourth place in the standings with 40 points apiece.

Women
Cerra grabbed the top spot in the Pro UET women's standings from Monique "Pua" Mata (Yucaipa, Calif./Sho-Air - Cannondale) and now leads with 100 points. Serena Gordon (Bend, Ore./All Access Racing) placed second at the Big Bear Classic and moves into second place in the standings with 70 points, while Mata drops to third place with 60 points.
