Florence, Italy (September 27, 2013) — Mike Plant earlier today was re-elected to the 15-member UCI Management Committee, the executive board of the UCI, by the UCI Congress at the 2013 UCI Road World Championships in Florence, Italy. Plant begins his second consecutive four-year term in this role after a two-term stint that spanned 1997-2005.

Well-seasoned in sports administration, Plant has been executive vice president of operations for the Atlanta Braves since 2003. He also served as president of USA Cycling’s board of directors from 1995 to 2002 and is currently president of the U.S. Speedskating board of directors. Plant was a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee board of directors. In previous roles, he was executive director of the U.S. Canoe and Kayak Team and associate executive director of the U.S. Cycling Federation. Plant also raced as a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Speedskating Team.
