Pete Webber Election Statement

Pete Webber
Cyclo-cross Committee - Masters Eligible Athlete

I am pleased to submit my application to serve on the USA Cycling Cyclocross Committee in the position of Master Athlete. I've been racing cross for 20 years and have significant experience and insight that can help steer the future of our sport. As cyclocross continues to grow and evolve in new directions, it is essential that our community work together to shape policies that are well-planned and effective for elite riders, amateur riders, and race organizers. I've raced in the U.S. and Europe as both an Elite and Master athlete, and have direct experience with the ever-changing UCI and USAC cyclocross rules and programs. Not all of them have been fair nor well-implemented and I hope to help improve that track record. I am a former pro racer, a professional cyclocross course designer, and recently completed a 12-year career at the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA). I’m fortunate to be a 2-time Masters National Champion and current World Champion in the 40-45 age group. I have been inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame for my advocacy work and I am now a professional cycling coach in Boulder, CO with an emphasis on cyclocross. My simple goal is to help make cyclocross better by providing USA Cycling with common-sense guidance gathered directly from riders and race organizers.
