Open supercross track training offered at Chula Vista OTC in April

USA Cycling will be offering open training on the London-replica BMX supercross track at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif., on April 1, 2, 4 and 5 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

These training sessions are available only to junior and elite men and women that are U.S. citizens and have a 2013 USA Cycling license. Riders will be required to pay $40 for each session and sign waivers that will be sent to them on request.

Please contact Jamie Staff at jstaff@usacycling.org to sign up.

Riders will need to have all protective clothing, including full face helmet and gloves. Hard-shell knee and elbow pads are required.

“Supercross tracks are a lot more extreme than regular BMX tracks, with speeds in excess of 40 mph being reached," comments Staff. "For training it is highly recommended that riders take the precautionary measures to help prevent injuries as well as prolong their career. This is going to be the case especially for riders that have never ridden a supercross-type track before.”

More dates coming soon.
