Norrene Godfrey Election Statement

Norrene Godfrey
Track Commitee - At Large

My name is Norrene Godfrey, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to run as a candidate for the “At-large” position for the discipline of track cycling.

I've been involved with the sport of cycling for 26-years, from an elite racer, UCI team owner and director of the Land Rover-ORBEA squad to present day, owner and director of Project London 2012 p/b Land Rover Select CPO professional track team. I have worn many hats over the years working with both the road and track teams. I've learned a lot from working with Project London riders and the US coaching staff and I've had the opportunity to learn best practices from other countries as well.

I believe fixed gear racing is on the rise, as more and more velodromes come online in the United States. I also believe the U.S. has the potential to produce some of the worlds best track racers, but we need to ban together now and start building towards that future, from grass roots, to nationals, to world cups. It won’t happen over night, in fact it will take a good four years of steady growth and development, but it will happen, if we all work towards one goal – building the sport of track cycling. I have a lot to give back to the sport of cycling, for everything it has given me and I would like to be part of building the next generation athletes. I would love it if you could vote for me, but I would love it more, if you just voted, let your voice be heard.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I can be reached at norrene@projectlondon2012.com. Please give me your support and vote.

Thank you in advance!

Norrene Godfrey
