U.S. riders perform well in World Cup finales
American athletes contested both the track and the cyclo-cross World Cup finales over the weekend. On the track, Cody O'Reilly (Santa Barbara, Calif./Bissell) was the top American while Jonathan Page (Northfield, N.H./Planet Bike) turned in the top finish at the cyclo-cross event. USA Cycling announced its 2010 regional development camps schedule and 20 Americans are preparing for the Cyclo-cross World Championships next weekend.

Five Americans represented the U.S. National Team at the fourth and final round of the UCI Track World Cup in Beijing, Jan. 22-24. Cody O'Reilly turned in the top performance for the squad with a fourth-place result in the men's scratch race. Cari Higgins (Boulder, Colo./Proman) was 13th in the keirin and 17th in the scratch race while Giddeon Massie (Zion Hill, Pa./Bike Religion) made the 11th-place effort in the kilometer time trial and the 31st-place effort in the sprint. Cyclo-cross
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup finale also took place over the weekend in Hoogerhide, Netherlands with Jonathan Page producing the top result for the American contingent with an eighth-place effort. On the women's side, Amy Dombroski (Boulder, Colo./Luna) finished in a strong ninth-place. Click here for more on the Cyclo-cross World Cup. Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Planet Bike), who was not present at the World Cup finale, ended up fourth in the final elite women's World Cup rankings while Jonathan Page was 18th on the men's side. Development Camps
USA Cycling recently announced the dates and venues for its 2010 Regional Road, Track, and Mountain Bike Development Camps. The camps, which are open to all athletes between the ages of 14 and 22, will give young riders the opportunity to learn from some of the top coaches in the nation.
