Olds 3rd in scratch race at World Cup opener

USA Cycling fielded a team of five for the UCI Track World Cup opener in Manchester, October 29 - November 1. Shelley Olds (Scotts Valley, Calif./Proman) posted the best result for the U.S. with a bronze medal performance in the women's scratch race.

NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT TEAM PROGRAM

Riding for the U.S. National Team, Daniel Holloway (Morgan Hill, Calif./Garmin-Felt-Holowesko) and Colby Pearce (Boulder, Colo.) competed in the UCI Track World Cup opener in Manchester, October 29 - November 3 where they combined forces to place seventh in the Madison. Additionally, Holloway contested the points race, lapping the field once with a group of 13 to score 21 points and place 12th. Pearce barely missed out on a breakaway in the scratch race and after several attempts to get away, he finished in the bunch in 22nd place. Click here for complete results.

WOMEN'S DEVELOPMENT TEAM PROGRAM

Shelley Olds, Cari Higgins (Boulder, Colo./Proman), and Coryn Rivera (Tustin, Calif./Proman) rode for the U.S. National Team at round one of the UCI Track World Cup. All three women made it into the final of the scratch race where Olds picked up the bronze medal, Rivera finished 13th, and Higgins placed 22nd. Click here for complete results.
