Registration closing soon for Bill Woodul Race Mechanic Clinic

Registration is closing soon for the 2009 USA Cycling Bill Woodul Race Mechanic Clinic. Slated for December 10-13, 2009 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, the clinic is open to U.S. residents and USA Cycling license holders who have at least two years of bicycle mechanic experience and wish to become USA Cycling-licensed mechanics.

The first USA Cycling mechanic’s clinic was put on by Bill Woodul in 1988 as a way to recruit mechanics for his program, and past graduates of the clinic have gone on to work for teams all over the world. Earning a USA Cycling mechanic’s license can open new doors for mechanics, qualifying them to work at Olympic Trials, National Championships, USA Cycling Training Camps and with the U.S. National Team. Many corporate neutral support systems also require the license. Additionally, the license provides mechanics with insurance coverage during their participation at sanctioned events.

Space in the USA Cycling Bill Woodul Race Mechanic Clinic is filling up fast.  Participation is limited to 50 to ensure one-on-one interaction between instructors and students. The registration fee is $300 and covers housing at the Olympic Training Center, meals, and learning materials.

Registration closes on November 1. For more information, email USA Cycling Operations Manager James Stanfill or call him at (719) 434-4228.

To register for the clinic, send a brief resume with your e-mail address and a check for $300 payable to:
