Colorado Springs, Colo. (Oct. 14, 2009) - Cari Higgins (Boulder, Colo.) has been elected to the USCF Board of Trustees as its athlete representative. A multi-time track national champion and Pan Am Games medalist, Higgins was elected as the new athlete trustee on Oct. 13 following a recent special election.
Higgins won the tight election over Jame Carney (Tucson, Ariz.), Kathryn Curi-Mattis (Mountain View, Calif.), Derek Bouchard-Hall (Washington, D.C.), David Wenger (Austin, Texas) and Marty Nothstein (Orefield, Pa.).
Higgins will be seated on the USCF Board of Trustees until the next quadrennial election, set for mid-summer of 2012.
