Rider registration open for final UCI Supercross World Cup of 2009

Registration for the final round of the 2009 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup event in Frejus, France, October 9-10 is now open.

The final of four races on the international series, the Frejus event marks the third UCI Supercross World Cup event of the 2010 UCI BMX Ranking season. Future stops on the 2009 UCI Supercross World Cup circuit include Copenhagen May 8-9 (2009 season), Pietermaritzburg Aug 21-22, and Chula Vista Sept. 18-19.

The UCI BMX Supercross World Cup series is important because of the international ranking points available that affect an athlete’s individual international ranking, and contribute to a nation’s ranking, which is the primary factor in determining the number of start positions a country receives at the 2012 Olympic Games. The Frejus contest is also the third race to be factored into the 2010 USA Cycling BMX Power Rankings which one of the factors that will determine nominees to the U.S. BMX Olympic team in 2012.
