Bell and Stevens win Fitchburg overall; Zirbel takes over men's lead
Zach Bell (CAN/Kelly Benefit Strategies) won the men's pro overall in the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar's 16th event, the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic. Evelyn Stevens (New York, N.Y./Team Lip Smacker) pulled out the women's pro overall victory in Fitchburg, Mass. Without claiming a stage victory, both Bell and Stevens used consistent performances to grab the overall after four stages. For complete results from Fitchburg, click here.
After a third-place overall finish at Fitchburg, Tom Zirbel (Boulder, Colo./Bissell) takes over the NRC overall men's standings lead with 16 of 27 events complete, while Alison Powers (Boulder, Colo./Team Type I) continues to lead the women's individual standings. Colavita-Sutter Home p/b Cooking Light leads the men's team standings while Team Type I remained in the top spot on the women's side.
