House and National Development Team win at G.P. Waregem

The USA Cycling National Development Team's Cole House (Oneida, Wis.) won the single day G.P. Waregem in Belgium on March 25. House persevered through 130 kilometers of harsh cold and rain to best the more than 220 rider field in the 1.12-rated event.

Around 50 kilometers into the race, House joined a 20 rider group that broke away from the pack. With his USA Cycling National Development Team comrades Austin Carroll (Orange, Calif.) and Taylor Shelden (Breckenridge, Colo.) helping control a chase group, House's group stayed out front through several harsh climbs and cobblestone sections. In the final kilometers House outsprinted a 15 rider group to take the win in the popular one-day European event.

With the victory House and his American teammates showed they are ready for the UCI Nations' Cup opener on April 11 at the Tour of Flanders.
