www.usacycling.org -- USA Cycling Pro Championships to air on Versus September 7

Colorado Springs, Colo. (September 5, 2008) - The Versus Network will air the 2008 USA Cycling Professional Road and Time Trial Championships as part of its “Cyclysm Sundays” programming this Sunday, September 7 at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

Held over Labor Day weekend in Greenville, S.C., the USA Cycling Professional Time Trial Championships featured a pro-only field of 32 competitors who rode in pursuit of a national title over three laps of a technical, 11.1-kilometer flat to rolling circuit. The following day, an all-American field saddled up for the 177-kilometer road race that was defined by four ascents up Paris Mountain. It was the third straight year that the professional championships have been held in Greenville, S.C. The event will return to the city again in 2009.

Recognized by the United States Olympic Committee and the Union Cycliste Internationale, USA Cycling is the official governing body for all disciplines of competitive cycling in the United States, including road, track, mountain bike, BMX and cyclo-cross.
