Bids now being accepted for USA Cycling Mountain Bike Nationals

USA Cycling is now accepting bids to host the 2009/2010 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships. The event is set to be contested the third week in July and will include cross country, short-track cross country, downhill, 4-cross, super D and observed trials events. Promoters may however submit a bid for hosting cross country or gravity-only events. USA Cycling will manage and oversee all aspects of the event in conjunction with the local organizer. Bids are also being accepted for USA Cycling’s Mountain Bike Marathon National Championships, 24-Hour Mountain Bike National Championships and Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships. All bids must be received no later than June 10, 2008.

Several factors including event management experience, venue quality, location, infrastructure, accessibility, course quality, operating budget, sponsorship potential and community/volunteer support will help to determine the final selection of the venue and local organizing committee.

For more information and instructions on how to submit a bid, visit USA Cycling’s Mountain Bike webpage or click here. Please contact USA Cycling Mountain Bike Events and Program Director, Kelli Lusk, at 719-866-4668 or klusk@usacycling.org with any questions concerning the bid process.
