Power Based Training Courses
GENERAL INFORMATION
The USA Cycling Power Based Training clinics are open to anyone with an interest in learning more about using powermeters to train better. Triathletes and cycling coaches (or athletes) will benefit. A recent addition to the program is a model for assessing running training using the same power principles.
COST
The cost for the clinic will be $299 for USAC certified coaches; $399 for USAC members (non-coaches) and $449 for all others. (An exception is clinics held at one of the Olympic Training Centers).
USA Cycling is offering an "early bird" sign up special for the Philadelphia, PA power clinic. The early bird special is $50 off the above prices. The early bird sign up will end July 31. After July 31, the price will revert to the normal cost. Please review the clinic refund policy as it applies to the power based training clinic.

For coaches wishing to earn the Certified Power Based Training coach designation, an optional self-paced exam is offered. Level 2 and Level 1 coaches are eligible to take the exam. One does not need to attend the power based training clinic in order to take the certification exam. The cost for the exam for those who attend the course is $149; for those who do not attend, the cost $199. Level 3 coaches may attend the power based training clinic, but they cannot take the exam until they have passed the level 2 exam.
For level 2 and 1 coaches, the certification exam can be downloaded from your MYUSACYCLING account page at no charge. You pay when you submit the certification exam for scoring.
There are no requirements to attend the power based training clinic; participants are encouraged to read " Training and Racing with a Powermeter" and to review the online material at sites such as www.peakscoachinggroup.com where there is a lot of information available for no charge.
