Floyd Landis of the Phonak Hearing Systems Team was crowned the overall winner of the first-ever Amgen Tour of California with a total time of 22.46'46" yesterday in Redondo Beach after a dramatic Stage Seven circuit race. T-Mobile Team's Olaf Pollack (GER) won the stage, of 10 laps at 7.56 miles each through the city of Redondo Beach.

Landis was the overall winner of the race, with fellow Americans David Zabriskie and Bobby Julich, both of Team CSC, finishing second and third, respectively. Pollack's Stage Seven win gave him the final Clif Bar Sprint Jersey. Levi Leipheimer (USA) of Gerolsteiner had enough points following Saturday's Stage 6 finish in Thousand Oaks to take the California Travel and Tourism Commission King of the Mountain (KOM) Jersey. Despite a crash on the first lap in the final stage, Tom Peterson (USA) of Team TIAA-CREF won the Union Bank Best Young Rider Jersey, and Glen Chadwick's active role in today's race (AUS) from the Navigators Insurance Cycling Team earned him the Adobe Most Aggressive Rider Jersey.

After eight days of racing, 10 host cities, 600 miles of California terrain and more than 1.3 million spectators for the week's event, the inaugural Amgen Tour of California set records of all kinds, indicating that next year's event promises to bring even more exciting cycling competition and memorable sports moments. We would like to extend a special thank you to everyone that attended or watch the tour on ESPN 2. The race was a success because of your support and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
