Kate Courtney 2nd overall in U23 XC MTB World Cup Rankings

  
  


Vallord, Andorra (September 4, 2016) -- Kate Courtney (Kentfield, Calif./Specialized Factory Racing) finished second overall in the U23 women’s cross-country rankings in the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup after placing fifth in the final round on Sunday.
 
Courtney went into the Vallnord contest, the final event in the six race series, ranked second after achieving two second-place finishes, two fourth-place finishes, and a seventh-place result earlier in the year. In Vallnord, the American crossed the finish line four minutes and 18 seconds off the winning pace set by Sina Frei (SUI) who won in a time of 1:21:24.
 
Rio Olympians Lea Davison (Jericho, Vt./Specialized Racing) and Chloe Woodruff (Prescot, Ariz./Stan’s NoTubes-Pivot) also had impressive final World Cup rankings, completing the season in 10th and 16th, respectively, in the elite women’s class.
 
Davison was ninth in Vallnord and Woodruff was 28th. American Erin Huck (Boulder, Colo./SCOTT-3Rox Racing) finished 1th in Vallnord and grabbed 23rd overall in the standings. The elite women’s finale was won by Jolanda Neff (SUI).
