Micah Rice named Vice President of National Events for USA Cycling

USA Cycling is pleased to announce that Micah Rice has been named the organization’s Vice President of National Events.
As USA Cycling’s Managing Director of National Events, Rice was tasked with managing the organization’s 17 national championship events and 11 racing calendars. After coming to USA Cycling from a background that included athlete, race director and professional team manager, Rice held that position for nearly three years. His efforts are clearly visible at national championship events through improved customer service and branding, and an increased ownership of the events.
“Micah has dramatically enhanced the look and feel of our marquee National Championship events and has literally set the stage for moving our National Race Calendars into the 21st century,” said Steve Johnson, President and CEO of USA Cycling.  “The consolidation of the Events and Technical departments under Micah’s leadership is another in a series of initiatives designed to enhance our top-level race calendars and create a remarkable national championship experience for our members.”
As USA Cycling’s National Events Department continues its efforts to move U.S. cycling forward by improving domestic racing opportunities, Rice will oversee a staff of six, including the national governing body’s technical personnel.
“Working at USA Cycling for the past two and a half years has definitely opened my eyes to another level of the sport nationally and internationally,” Rice commented. “It has been truly satisfying to elevate our national championship properties and work with top-tier calendar race directors to move the sport forward with the strong support of the executives here at USA Cycling.”
