  Junior National Team closes out 2008 Junior Road & Track World's

The U.S. Junior National Team closed out the 2008 UCI Junior Road and Track World Championships on Sunday with five athletes contesting the men's and women's road race events and looking to add to its three-medal tally.  Sinead Miller was the highest-placed American with an eighth-place effort in the women's contest while teammate Jerika Hutchinson finished 13th. In the men's race, Nathan Brown's 50th-place finish was the top U.S. result. The U.S. National Team finished the weeklong event with three medals - a gold and bronze from Taylor Phinney, and a bronze from Colleen Hayduk.
   
  Phinney scores bronze in time trial at Junior World Championships

Two-time junior world champion Taylor Phinney contested his final event Friday at the 2008 UCI Junior Road & Track World Championships, winning a bronze medal in the individual time trial. Phinney's third-place finish marked his second trip to the podium this week after winning a gold medal in the 3,000-meter individual pursuit on the track last Saturday. Other American performances were turned in by Nathan Brown and Adam Leibovitz, who placed 12th and 40th respectively, while Jerika Hutchinson led the women's contingent with a 12th-place effort and Sinead Miller placed 20th.
   
  U.S. National Team wraps up track events at Junior World's

After opening the 2008 UCI Junior Road & Track World Championships with a two-medal performance last Saturday, the U.S. National Team completed the track events on Wednesday with no additional trips to the podium following the remaining six events in which it competed. With the road events on the horizon this weekend, the U.S. medal count sits at two with the potential for more on the way.  Defending time trial world champion, Taylor Phinney, will look to repeat his feat on Friday in the race against the clock.
   
  Nine set to represent the U.S. at Junior Road and Track Worlds

USA Cycling announced today the nine junior athletes that will represent the United States at the upcoming 2008 UCI Junior Road and Track World Championships in Cape Town, South Africa, July 12-20. Four junior men and two junior women will contest the road events scheduled for July 18-20, including defending junior world time trial champion Taylor Phinney, who will also compete in three events on the track. Joining Phinney on the track will be two men and one woman.
   
  Junior women to race in Europe as preparation for Worlds & beyond

High school graduation brings many changes for young people and often the promise of new and exciting opportunities. There aren’t too many graduates, though, who can look forward to racing their bikes on two new continents prior to enrolling in their first semester of college. That is however is exactly what Jerika Hutchinson and Sinead Miller, both 18 years-old, will do this summer: race with the U.S. Women’s National Team in Europe in early July and go from there to South Africa to compete at the Junior Road World Championships in Cape Town.
   
  Six 15-16 year-old juniors headed to Europe in July

USA Cycling has announced the junior 15-16  squad that will compete in Europe from July 1 to 20. The list of riders for the trip which will be based in Izegem, Belgium includes: Alex Battles-Wood, Lawson Craddock, James LaBerge, Anders Newbury, Joel Shaffer and Peter Taylor.
