Junior National Team contests Giro di Basilicata 15 Sep 2008
Jacob Rathe finished 11th overall at the 2.1-rated junior Giro di Basilicata. Rathe used a fourth-place finish in the 107-kilometer stage one and a second-place finish in the 119-kilometer third and final stage to secure 11th place in the G.C. One of six USA Cycling Junior National Team riders to start the premier Italian contest, Rathe finished 11 seconds behind overall winner Alberto Petito of Italy. Nathan Brown gave the Americans another top 10 stage finish with a sixth-place result on the opening day of the three-stage affair. Austin Arguello finished 31st overall, 9:51 back, while Ian Boswell and A.J. Meyer finished 35th and 36th respectively in the G.C. |

Junior Track Nationals close with five more titles awarded 17 Aug 2008
The USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships came to a close today with five new national champions being crowned at the ADT Event Center Velodrome in Southern California. The final day started out with Eric Meier having a stellar ride in the men's 17-18 ten-kilometer scratch race. After a breakaway of three riders took control of the race in the final lap, Meier picked up his first stars-and-stripes jersey with a win over silver medalist Lanell Rockmore and bronze medalist Iggy Silva. Epes Harris and Dan Heeley rounded out the podium in fourth and fifth. |

Eight titles awarded on penultimate day of Junior Track Nationals 16 Aug 2008
Eight more national titles were awarded on Saturday after an action-packed penultimate day at the USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships. After qualifying in first with a time of 11.432 over 200 meters, Lanell Rockmore breezed through his semi-final rounds and faced Epes Harris in the finals. Rockmore one the first two rounds to take the gold medal. In the race for bronze, Daniel Walker beat out Tynan Farley. Rounding out the podium in fifth was Trent Boyd. |

Five more titles awarded on day 2 of Junior Track Nationals 16 Aug 2008
National championship racing continued on Friday at the ADT Event Center Velodrome in suburban L.A. as stars-and-stripes jerseys were awarded for junior racing in five events. The first national title of the day was awarded to Lanell Rockmore who posted a time of 1:09.171 in the men’s 17-18 1-kilometer time trial to claim the top step of the podium. Epes Harris completed the four laps in 1:09.512 to score the silver medal while Alan Ting finished in 1:09.675 for the bronze.Dan Heeley and Daniel Walker rounded out the podium in fourth and fifth. |

Junior Track Nationals award 4 stars-and-stripes jerseys Thursday 15 Aug 2008
The USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships kicked off on Thursday with four national championship titles awarded in men's and women's 17-18 events during the morning and evening sessions. Junior World Championships bronze medalist Colleen Hayduk scored two national titles on opening day - one in the women's 17-18 500-meter time trial and the other in the scratch race. In men's 17-18 competition, Kit Karzen saw a thrilling victory in the men's points race while Epes Harris captured a national title in the keirin. |
