Glencoe, Ill. (December 16, 2013) — The Glencoe Grand Prix (GGP) is excited to announce that Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) will be the title sponsor of the 2014 signature event, to be held Saturday, May 31.

This is the fifth year of participation by IBJI in the GGP. For the last four years, IBJI has provided professional first aid services to race participants. IBJI will continue to provide first aid in 2014, as well as support the event overall as title sponsor of the USA Cycling National Criterium Calendar (NCC) pro men’s race. Glencoe is the seventh of 17 races nationwide supported by USA Cycling.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with IBJI in this expanded role,” said GGP race creator and current Glencoe Educational Foundation President Jon Knouse. “IBJI’s expertise in the orthopedic area is unparalleled in Illinois and their work in sports training and medicine fits in nicely with our event as we promote competition and healthy lifestyles through cycling.”

“We believe strongly in community,” explained Andre Blom, Director of Rehabilitation Services for IBJI. “This partnership allows us a chance to connect with Glencoe in particular and the greater cycling community in and around Chicagoland and show people the vast amount of services that IBJI offers – from our orthopaedic care to rehab, wellness and sports training and performance.”

The Glencoe Grand Prix is in its eighth year and is a community event that includes professional and amateur bike racing, live music, food and fun for the whole family. Proceeds from the event benefit the Glencoe Educational Foundation that supports not only special educational projects in Glencoe, but also supports education programs and schools outside of Glencoe.
