 Event Description
Event Date: September 7, 2013 The Door County Cross of the Century cyclocross event is held in conjunction with the Door County Century, a premier, 3,000 participant bike tour in its 35th year. Held entirely at the Door County Fairgrounds in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, this inaugural event will be both a non-competitive warm up for the USAC and WCA cyclocross seasons and will introduce and generate excitement for the sport of cyclocross in northeast Wisconsin. As a non-competitive, USAC sanctioned event, this event will not be timed or award participants based on finishing status. Rather, participants will receive raffle tickets upon completing the allotted race time window and will have the opportunity to win merchandise based on random drawing after each heat. This Saturday event will coincide with DC Century Bike Expo and will be run during expo hours, allowing for maximum exposure for racers and spectators. Riding fast and getting dirty is what we are all about! Mountain bikes and singlespeeds are welcome and encouraged.

 Course Description
The unique Cross of the Century course is fast and relatively flat with unique, man-made features. The 2 mile course will utilize the entire Door County Fairgrounds complex including the 300’ long Expo Building, clay stock car track and grandstand, go-cart road course, and pump track style gravel woops. The course will also feature a quad run-up, two triple barrier sections, a dirt corral and sand pit all within reach of a cold New Belgium Fat Tire and a homemade cup of Booyah! Lots to rattle your cowbell about! Come and do it in the name of FUN!

 Notes
Because of the non-competitive designation of this event, all race categories have been carefully considered. Juniors go before their parents (Masters), ladies go before gentlemen and slower goes before faster. It’s as simple as that. So in keeping it simple: 1. 11:00 Juniors (12-17 yr. olds) 2. 12:00 Masters 40+ (women and men) 3. 1:00 Open Women (18+) 4. 2:00 Open Men (18+) 5. 3:00 Women Cat 1/2/3 6. 4:00 Men Cat 1/2/3 Junior and Open races are 30 minutes, while Masters and Cat 1/2/3 are 45 minutes long.
