 Event Description
The Ride to the Rock at Chimney Rock 25 Mile Bike ride is part of the "3 RACES IN 3 DAYS" challenge. You can choose to do this one event only or if you are brave enough take part in all 3 races. Can you handle it? If you think you can, you must start out with the Lake Lure 10K Dam Run on Friday night. Saturday morning the Lake Lure Triathlon will test your swim, bike, and run skills. Then to top it off, Sunday is this event, the Ride to the Rock.....either the 25 Mile Bike or the 5K Run (click HERE for the run).....you choose. The 25 Mile Bike begins at 7:30 AM just outside the park entrance. This is a beautiful yet challenging bike course. It is 22 miles until you reach the park entrance as the last 3 miles moves straight up Chimney Rock State Park. All cyclists must be inside the park gates by 9:30 AM. If you do not reach the park entrance by 9:30 AM a race organizer will meet you at the front gate to remove your timing chip.
