With BMX set to make its Olympic debut in Beijing, USA Cycling named 21 athletes to the Olympic team across the disciplines of road, track, mountain bike and BMX cycling.
USA Cycling announces 2008 U.S. Olympic Team

USA Cycling announced today 21 of its 24 nominees to the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team, including all 16 men's athletes across the disciplines of road cycling, track cycling, mountain biking and bicycle motocross (BMX). Additionally, five automatic women's nominations across the four Olympic disciplines were announced. Included in the list of nominees is the United States' first five-time Olympic cyclist, George Hincapie, as well as several world champions and world championship medalists. Cycling events at the 2008 Beijing Games begin with the men's road race on Saturday, Aug. 9.
