Antonneau 5th in CX World Cup on Sunday

  
  


Lignieres-en-Berry, France (January 17, 2016) -- Kaitlyn Antonneau (Racine, Wis./Cannondale Cyclocrossworld) posted the top result for American racers at the penultimate round of the 2015-2016 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in France on Sunday.
 
Belgian rider Sanne Cant took the elite women’s win in a time of 44:03 while Antonneau rode in the chase group and crossed the line 49 seconds off the winning pace for fifth place.
 
Also representing the USA in the elite women’s contest were Elle Anderson (San Francisco, Calif./SRAM/Strava) in 19th, Amanda Nauman (Mission Viejo, Calif.) in 28th, Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Trek Factory Racing) in 33rd, and Kathryn Cumming (Bloomfield, NJ/Cyclocross Magazine Racing Team) in 39th.
 
The lone American in the elite men’s contest, Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Aspire Racing) placed 23rd while Mathiew Van der Poel (NED) took the win.
 
World cup racing will wrap up in Hoogerheide, Netherlands on Jan. 24 before cross season officially concludes with the world championships, Jan. 30-31.
