The City of Redlands and its surrounding communities will once again serve as a backdrop to this year’s 30th edition of the race. The Redlands Bicycle Classic is a four-day stage race. The Classic will continue its long tradition of racing the beautiful tree lined streets of Redlands while incorporating new venues like Big Bear Lake, and for the seventh year, the City of Beaumont. Last year, the Classic unveiled a 7,000-foot time trial held in the City of Big Bear.

Race Director Eric Reiser said, "Last year, we took on the challenge of bringing a time trial to City of Big Bear. The elevation and technical aspects of the time trial provided a challenge for both racers and organizers alike." The day also showcased the versatility of the all volunteer race committee.

The Redlands Bicycle Classic will once again start the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar (NRC). The winners of the 2013 race, Francisco Mancebo and Alison Powers, both went on to win the NRC season. The Classic continues to serve as an early season measuring stick for the NRC season.

For the 30th year Bob Peppler, who has returned as president to guide the Classic committee, said, "I'm excited to return as president of the classic. I am excited to be back and looking to build upon the past while gearing up for the future.“

The Redlands Bicycle Classic is coming again this spring. We hope to see you all April 3-6 for the 30th anniversary of the Redlands Classic.

About the Redlands Bicycle Classic
The Redlands Bicycle Classic is an all-volunteer organization, managed by the Redlands Bicycle Classic Organizing Committee, comprised of active community members that seek to see the promotion of cycling and its benefits in Redlands and its surrounding communities. The 30th Annual Redlands Bicycle Classic is scheduled for April 3–6. The event was founded in 1985 by a community group, chaired by then-Mayor Carole Beswick, to promote awareness of Downtown Redlands. Since that time, professional cyclists from around the world have been racing the event, which is centered in the city of Redlands, Calif. The event continues today invigorated by the RBC Organizing Committee’s adoption of, and commitment to, the events’ core virtues of health, diversity and the environment. The Redlands Bicycle Classic is on the USA Cycling National Racing Calendar (NRC) of events and is the opening round of the series.
