2013 USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships
October 25-27, 2013
Beech Mountain Resort, Beech Mtn, NC

Here are a few notes ahead of tomorrow’s first ever collegiate mountain bike team relay national championship!

  1. Riders will start at the finish truss and do the short track course backwards until the dual slalom- there they will cross the slalom course and ride up to the road, climb past the downhill course crossing and turn left to descend the cross country descent, back up to the finish.
  2. Riders may not exit their start stalls until their incoming teammate has entered the exchange zone, which is a line across the course about 50 meters before the finish.
  3. The rider finishing a lap MUST cross finish line BEFORE his/her teammate. [10” penalty]
  4. Finishing riders exit the course to the left of the start/finish.
  5. Teams pick start stall at time of call-up. This stays the team’s start stall for the entire race.
  6. Men must complete two laps and women must complete two laps for each team and exchanges are mandatory each lap (no consecutive laps for any rider).
